Department of Electronics

Welcome to the Department of Electronics

The Department of Electronics was established in June 1994. The department offers a core elctronics course as part of the Mathematics-Electronics-Computer Science combination, leading to a B.Sc. degree from Osmania University. The focus is on application-oriented knowledge of basic electronic and electric devices.

Progression

Inter-Collegiate Festival SHOCK

The Department organizes the annual inter-collegiate festival SHOCK. Various exciting events such as quiz and caption contest are conducted. Seminars and workshops relating to electronics are part of the festival.

- » A spacious and fully equipped electronics lab which can accommodate 50 students at a time.
- » Departmental library catering to the needs of the students.
- » Multisim and Keil software is available in Computer lab which enables the students to simulate hardware experiments.
- » The lab is also used for taking practical for M.Sc. Microprocessors and Microcontrollers.
- » Computer hardware lab is available.
- » Optical fiber experiments can be performed in the lab.
- » LCD Projector is available in the lab.

- » One-day seminar on Embedded System in February 2010 for teachers.
- » One-day seminar on Lab View in June 2009 for students.
Achievements
- » Ms Shubha is a co-author for Degree 2nd year Electronics Text Book Published by Telugu Academy.
- » L.N.Shubha and B.Sushma presented a paper at National Seminar “Environmental Changes and Adaptation” on the topic ‘E-Waste’ and won 2nd Prize.
- » Students won 1st Prize in the physical demo experiments at the National Festival AMALGAM 2011.

» St. Francis college and Physitech electronics have signed an Memorandum of Understanding on 19th jan 2012 for effective transfer of technology between Academics and Industry
» From the academic year 2012-13, the Department of Electronics will conduct a diploma course in PC Hardware and Networking
