M.Sc. Mathematics
St. Francis College started M.Sc. in mathematics in the year 2003. It is a 2year (4 – Semester) course with 30 students in each semester. The program M.Sc. pure Mathematics with elective papers in applied mathematics and Computer Science. The students take up an internship with schools, colleges and software organization. They are also oriented towards research by doing projects.
Objectives:
- To lay a strong foundation in Mathematics at P.G level.
- To develop research attitude and research skills.
- To develop aptitude and confidence in teaching Mathematics.
- To create awareness about Mathematical softwares.
- To create opportunities to popularise Mathematics.
- To encourage students to take up projects in industry and research organizations.
Eligibility: Graduation in the disciplines B.A, B.Sc (who have studied mathematics)
from any University, recognized under University Act of India, with
a minimum of 55% in the undergraduate course. Students who are awaiting
their final year undergraduate results may also apply. Loyola Academy
Chemical Technology students are also eligible to apply.
